Submissions

Chola Wengue Publishing Co. accepts manuscripts directly from authors as well as those submitted through literary agents. We understand the difficulty authors face in getting their materials into the hands of publishing houses. As authors we have been on the other end of that stamp and know the politics involved with getting your work into accepting hands.

As an independent publishing house of African and African American literature, we seek quality manuscripts from talented writers in every genre.

Our submission guidelines are as follows:

Fiction – Submit first three chapters of the manuscript (double spaced, 12 pt. Courier font, 1” margins). One page synopsis/outline (single spaced).

Non-Fiction – Submit an outline or table of contents, three sample chapters, description of designated reading audience, and author's biography.

Poetry – Submit no more than 5 poems and a one page statement of your poetic vision.

Children's – Submit entire manuscript and illustrations. Include a one page synopsis/outline (single spaced).

Include a self addressed stamped envelope. Submitted materials will not be returned unless accompanied with a self-addressed envelope that is the proper size and has adequate postage.

Email submissions must be sent in Microsoft Word format.
